Competition for the design of the World Bank’s new headquarters in Port-au-Prince.

Following the energy efficiency guidelines for office buildings in tropical climates, we proposed a two-volume building articulated by a courtyard.

The first volume, L-shaped, for private use, allows expansion if more office space is needed.

The second volume, for public use, receives visitors and the small auditorium.

The building is conceived with few window openings, but the perforated terracotta façade allows for passive ventilation and shade from harsh sunlight.
