Limonade

Year 2015

Location Limonade, Haiti

Client IDB

The project includes the proposal for the development of urban actions in Limonade, as well as short-term investments to compensate for the implementation of the landfill for the whole of Northern Haiti in its municipal district.

Three poles of the city were identified as priority scenarios for action: the intercity transport station, the economic activity and market area, and flood risk mitigation.

The final work includes a long-term vision of Limonade and project sheets for the development of the New Market, flood mitigation, and measures for the upgrading of the neighbourhood around the market. It also ultimately included a long-term vision for the town’s urban development, phased over time and linked to the construction of a northern and eastern road bypass.

As an example, for the development of the bus station a TOD (transit-oriented development) concept was proposed, including a layout of residential blocks and a preliminary land-subdivision exercise.
