SENEGAL. DIAMNIADIO UNIVERSITY CAMPUS (2019–2021)
Location: Diamniadio
Client: ANSA Realty
The Diamniadio campus is an extensive complex comprising student residences, a medical-social center, an administration building, and a communal dining facility, located near the university campus in Senegal’s new capital, Diamniadio.
This ambitious proposal—which was ultimately not built (the 2019 design)—was organized into U-shaped blocks, featuring a main administration building and a designated area for a commercial or hospitality-related structure (such as a hotel or shopping center).
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was revived at a different site, utilizing a simpler typology: the linear block. It is currently under construction.
The buildings follow a consistent design concept: ensuring privacy along the facades, incorporating passive solar protection, utilizing ceramic *mashrabiya* (latticework) screens, and prioritizing natural ventilation throughout the spaces.
