The proposed project is part of the municipal improvement plan for the school complex, located in the urban area of Zaldibar, in Bizkaia. The project was won in a public competition and has been distinguished with several awards and publications.
The challenge of the intervention was to be able to build the school during the school holidays, in three months, for which a prefabricated construction system with CLT wooden panels was proposed.
The building was designed in the shape of an L to allow the integration of the two programs into one volume: kindergarten area and primary school area.
The design uses resources to adapt to the users, the children, as shown by the simplicity of the forms, the height of the windows, the chromatic play on the facades and the idea of toy wooden houses.
