Morne à Tuf

Location Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Client CIAT (financed by AECID)

Multidisciplinary work carried out in Morne à Tuf, the colonial centre of Port-au-Prince, one of the few areas of Haiti with urban regulations in place.

The objective was threefold: to carry out an urban diagnosis of the 20 blocks that make up the urban fabric of Morne à Tuf; to identify the block most favourable for a pilot urban intervention and land-subdivision exercise, mapping stakeholders and prioritizing their needs; and to run a practical workshop on the land-subdivision process, identifying potential investors and key agents such as notaries.

One of the outputs was an illustrative, educational video of the process, produced in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country’s Department of Urbanism.
