Year 2019-2021
Location Diamniadio, Senegal
Client ANSA Realty
The Diamniadio campus is an extensive complex of student residences, a medical-social centre, an administration building and a community dining hall, near the university campus of Senegal’s new capital, Diamniadio.
It is an ambitious proposal that was ultimately not built (2019 proposal), laid out in U-shaped blocks with a main administration building and a reserve plot for a tertiary building such as a hotel or shopping centre.
After COVID the proposal was resumed, in a different location with a simpler typology (the linear block). It is currently under construction.
The buildings follow the same concept: privacy on their facades, passive solar protection, use of ceramic mashrabiya screens and a focus on natural ventilation of the spaces.
