The Lycee Marie Jeanne was destroyed by the 2010 earthquake. The only building that survived the disaster was the assembly hall, a spectacular building of Modern Movement architecture with interesting details in concrete and even a passive cooling system using Canadian wells, an example of architecture in the Caribbean. Respecting the existing Auditorium, three volumes were ordered and created, adapting the prototype design, with classrooms opening onto the open interior courtyard.
The building has not been completed, and during the dark years of armed gangs it was occupied by the population, remaining unfinished to this day.
